ZPDA (250-3100) PCMCIA Card Faxback Doc. # 2647

You can purchase optional add-on cards for your unit. These cards can give
you extra storage for your files or give you access to additional
applications or information.

IMPORTANT: The unit can only use PCMCIA cards (Release 2.0). You should
use cards designed to be compatible with the unit.

Use the following precautions in handling add-on cards:

* Do not bend or drop cards.

* Do not carry them in your pocket.

* When not in use, store cards in their cases.

* Make sure the card is positioned correctly when you install it.

* Never try to take cards apart, and do not insert pins or paper clips
  into their connectors.

* Consult the instructions that come with the cards for information on
  changing their batteries.

* The manufacturers assume no responsibility for damage or loss suffered
due to loss of data due to improper use of the cards.

To install a card in the the unit:

1. Make sure that the unit's power is on.

2. Slide the card lock switch to the FREE position, and then press the
card eject button to eject the dummy card or PCMCIA card already
   installed.
When you remove the dummy card, be sure to keep it handy. You should
always install the dummy card whenever you're not using a PCMCIA card
   with the unit.

3. Slide the PCMCIA card into the card slot.

Make sure that the card is facing correctly, and don't force it into
the slot. Press firmly, but slowly.

4. Slide the card lock switch to the LOCK position.

NOTE: You cannot create new documents directly on a PCMCIA card.
You must first create new documents on the unit's internal
storage area and then copy them to a PCMCIA card.

* If you are using the unit without a PCMCIA card, be sure that the dummy
card is installed. The dummy card protects against problems caused by
dust, dirt, and static electricity. It also protects against damage to
the unit caused by pressing down too hard on the back of the unit.

* When reinstalling the dummy card into the unit, be sure the characters
on the card are facing up.
