VOYETRA DEVICE DRIVERS:

CONFIGURING THE VOYETRA DRIVERS:

Your sound board package also comes with two Voyetra Device Drivers, TAPISG
and VMP, These might be required for other third-party software
applications. The information below will help you configure these drivers.
If you plan to load both drivers, you must load TAPISG before VMP. Remove
the drivers in the reverse order.

At the DOS prompt, load a driver by typing either: TAPISG --or-- VMP

CONFIGURING TAPISG:

You can configure TAPISG using these parameters:

PARAMETER DESCRIPTION

/irq:x This parameter disables TAPISG automatic interrupt
searching to automatically search the MIDI interface
hardware and set the proper IRQ setting. With this
parameter, you can override the search and set the
                    interrupt at irq x.
x is the IRQ number and ranges from 2 to 7.
(IRQ 9 will be used instead of IRQ 2 on an AT class
                    computer.

/port:x This parameter sets the TAPISG logical MIDI port
assignment for the SOUND POWER 2.0.
x is the port number and ranges from 1 to 8.
The default port is Port 2.

/addr:xxx This parameter sets the base I/O address of the MIDI
interface. xxx is the base address value (Hex), and
the default is the default base I/O address of the
                    SOUNDPOWER 2.0.

/rem This parameter removes the TAPISG driver from memory.

/dma:xx This parameter sets the digital audio hardware DMA
channel for TAPISG. xx is the respectively DMA
channel, and the default is the default DMA channel
                    for the SOUND POWER 2.0.

CONFIGURING VMP:

You can configure VMP using these parameters:

PARAMETER DESCRIPTION

/amem:xx This parameter allocates memory for digital audio
buffers. xx is the number of kilobytes of memory
allocated for each of the two digital audio buffers.
The range is between 4KB to 32KB, and the default is
based on the SOUND POWER 2.0.

/clp:xx This parameter requests for a memory buffer for playing
MIDI files. xx is the number of kilobytes of memory
requested. If you do not specify the amount of memory,
then a 64KB of memory buffer is allocated.

/mport This parameter tells VMP to use the MIDI output port
specified in the MIDI file when playing.
The default is for VMP to search for an appropriate
port to use. If a sound card is found, it will use it
to play the song. Otherwise, the first MIDI port is
                    used.

/rem This parameter removes the VMP driver form memory.

/cd:x This parameter tells VMP to use the specified drive,
if your system have mov\re than one drive.
This parameter is used to access a particular CD
drive in a multiple-CD system. x is the specified
CD number, and ranges from 0 to 7.

You can type VMP/? to list all parameters available on the screen.
