You can store a maximum of 12,000 characters at a time in the copy/move memory, which occupies a part of text memory. When the remaining memory is too small to store the marked text, Inadequate COPY/MOVE memory appears and the copy function is canceled. If the remaining memory is sufficient to store the marked text, but not enough to insert or copy it, the following message appears. Inadequate text memory COPY/MOVE memory will be automatically cleared when COPY/MOVE is executed. Do you want to execute COPY/MOVE? (Y/N) : _ For example, if space for 1,000 characters remains in memory and you store 700 characters of text in the copy/move memory, the remaining 300 characters of space available in memory is not enough to insert 700 characters of text. Therefore, the warning message appears. Press Y to execute copying. The copy/move memory is cleared to provide room for the text begin inserted. Press N to cancel the copy function. When the remaining memory is not enough to inset the text stored in the copy/move memory, the following message appears: Inadequate text memory COPY/MOVE memory will be automatically cleared when COPY/MOVE is executed. Do you want to execute COPY/MOVE? (Y/N) : _ At first, you might think that this message is a mistake--all you want to do is move text from one place to another, so there should be no change in the amount of memory space used. However, please remember that the contents of the copy/move memory are retained, even after you insert the text. For example, if you want to move 1,000 characters of text, you must first store that text in the copy/move memory, as described in steps 1 and 2 above. When you insert the stored text, the WP-100 puts the 1,000 characters of text into the text file, but keeps the same amount of text in the copy/move memory. Thus, additional 1,000 characters of space memory is required. If the current memory space in the WP-100 is less than 1,000 characters, the warning message appears. Press Y to execute moving. The copy/move memory is cleared to provide room for the text being inserted. Press N to cancel the move function. The contents of the copy/move memory are not deleted.
