Remote access requires a security code.  The remote security code is
factory preset to 789.  If you do not have access to a touch-tone tele-
phone, you can use an optional pocket tone dialer for remote operation.

USING THE TOLLSAVER

If there are no messages recorded on the tape, the TAD answers after 4
rings.  After the TAD records a message, it answers all other calls
after 2 rings.  This lets you avoid unnecessary toll charges when calling
by long-distance to check your messages.  If you hear more than 2 rings,
you know there are no messages.  You can hang up so you will not be
charged for the call.

You might want to explain this feature to other members of your family and
frequent callers so they understand why the number of rings varies.

NOTE:  If the tape is full, the TAD answers after about 2 rings.

USING REMOTE CONTROL COMMANDS

1.  Dial your phone number.

      When the TAD's answer mode is set to on, the TAD answers and the
      outgoing message plays.

      If the TAD's answer mode is set to off, your phone rings for about
      55 seconds, the TAD beeps twice.

2.  Enter the remote security code.  The TAD beeps once to verify that you
    entered the correct remote security code.  Incoming message recording
    stops, and the TAD waits for your remote control command entry.

3.  Press the number of the desired remote control command described
    below.

    COMMAND                         DESCRIPTION

      1          PLAY - Press to play the messages.  The tape rewinds
                 and plays all the messages.

     #1          CHANGE REMOTE SECURITY CODE - Press to change the
                 remote security code required for remote access
                 using a touch-tone telephone.  The remote
                 security code is factory preset to 789.

     #2          CHANGE CALL SCREEN PLUS CODE - Press to change the 
                 call screen plus code required for a particular
                 caller to alert you using a touch-tone
                 telephone.  The call screen plus code is
                 factory preset to 456.

      3          RECORD OGM - Press to record a new outgoing message.
                 The TAD beeps.  After the beep, begin your new
                 outgoing message.  When you finish, press 3
                 again.  The new outgoing message automatically
                 plays so you can check it.

      4          SAVE - Press to save old messages if you pressed 6 to
                 set the TAD to record over the old message but
                 now want to save them.  When the TAD beeps, you
                 can hang up.  The old messages are saved.

      5          ANSWER (OFF) - Press to set the TAD to not answer
                 calls.  The TAD beeps to confirm that the TAD is off.

      6          ERASE - Press to record over old messages.  When the
                 TAD beeps, you can hang up.  Any new phone 
                 messages record over the old messages.

      7          REWIND - Press to rewind the tape.  IF you rewind the
                 tape to its beginning, the TAD beeps twice and
                 automatically resumes play.

                 If you do not rewind the tape to its beginning,
                 press 8 to resume play from the beginning of
                 the current message.

      8          STOP - Press to stop play or to stop rewind/fast
                 forward and resume play.

                 If you press 8 to stop play, the TAD sounds a
                 command prompt.  To resume play, press 1.  The
                 tape automatically rewinds and plays all the
                 messages.

      9          FAST-FORWARD - Press to fast-forward through the
                 messages.  To resume play, press 8. If you
                 fast-forward the tape to its end, the TAD
                 beeps twice, then sounds a command prompt.

      0          ROOM MONITOR - Press to monitor the room where the
                 TAD is located.  After 60 seconds, monitoring
                 automatically stops.  After the first 45
                 seconds of the 60-second limit, the TAD beeps
                 to warn you that time is almost up.  To
                 continue monitoring the room, press 0 again.

NOTE:  If you do not press 0 to continue monitoring, the TAD hangs up.

After each remote control command, the TAD sounds different command
prompts (depending on the command entered).  You can hang up the phone or
enter another remote control command.

REMOTE SETTING THE ANSWER MODE TO ON

You can use any remote touch-tone telephone to set the TAD to answer calls
when you are away from your home or office.

NOTE:  The TAD must be connected to power and the telephone line.

1.  Dial your phone number.

    When the TAD's answer mode is set to off, your phone rings for about
    55 seconds.  the TAD beeps twice so you can access the desired remote
    control commands or set the answer mode to on.

    If the TAD's answer mode is set to on, your phone rings 2 or 4 times,
    the TAD answers and the outgoing message plays.

2.  Enter the remote security code.  The TAD beeps once to verify that you
    entered the correct code, plays the outgoing message, and again beeps
    once to confirm that it is set to answer calls.

3.  Hang up or enter another remote control command.
