Intercom Set

TURNING THE INTERCOMS ON AND OFF

To turn on each intercom, turn VOLUME clockwise until you hear it click
and the POWER indicator lights. Turn VOLUME further clockwise to adjust
the volume.

To turn off each intercom, turn VOLUME counterclockwise until you hear it
click and the POWER indicator goes out.

CALLING/ANSWERING ANOTHER INTERCOM

To call another intercom, press and release CALL. A call tone sounds at
the other intercom. To talk, press and hold TALK. The TALK indicator
lights. Speak in a normal voice. Release TALK to hear the reply.

Notes: In a single set, both intercoms must be turned on to call or talk.

If you have more than two intercoms installed, any two intercoms
can be used to call or talk.

Do not speak too loudly when transmitting. It does not make your
signal any stronger, and might distort your transmission.

USING AN ATTACHED TELEPHONE

When you have a telephone connected to an intercom, use the phone
normally. You can carry on a telephone call and an intercom call at the
same time without interference between the conversations.

USING AN INTERCOM AS A MONITOR

You can set up your intercom set for continuous one-way communication.
This is useful for nursery or other room monitoring, or any time you
want to talk without having to hold down TALK.

Note: Both intercoms must be turned on for one intercom to monitor
       another.

To monitor another intercom, press LOCK on the intercom that you want to
continuously transmit. You can then monitor the locked intercom from any
other intercom.

To turn off the monitor, press TALK or CALL on the locked intercom.

HOLD

Even if your phone does not have a hold button, you can use your intercoms
to put an incoming phone call on hold. If the call is for another person,
you can then use the intercom to call the person to the phone.

Putting a Phone Call on Hold

1. Answer the incoming call.

2. Press and hold TEL HOLD on the intercom, then hang up the phone. The
TEL HOLD indicator lights. Release HOLD and the intercom places the
    incoming phone call on hold.

Notes: If you connect the intercom to two phone lines, the hold function
        works only on Line 1.

You can hear and talk to a caller while a call is on hold until
        you hang up the phone.

Releasing Hold

To release a call from hold, pick up the phone's handset. The TEL HOLD
indicator goes out.

Announcing a Phone Call to Another Intercom

1. Answer the incoming call.

2. If you do not want the caller to hear you through the handset, press
and hold TEL HOLD on the intercom, then hang up the phone. The TEL
    HOLD indicator lights.

3. Press CALL, then announce the call to the person using the other
    intercom. See "Calling/Answering Another Intercom."

When the person taking the call picks up the phone's handset, the call
is released from hold and the TEL HOLD indicator goes out.
