EC-344 (650-0861A) Using the Security Code Faxback Doc. # 7573

The security feature lets you block unauthorized access to directory
records and schedule alarms.

Once you set the security code, all the directory records and schedule
alarms are automatically locked. You must enter the security code before
you enter or recall a directory record or schedule alarm.

After about 4 minutes of non-use, all the directory records and schedule
alarms will be automatically locked again. You must enter the security
code again if you want to enter or recall a directory record or schedule
alarm.

Setting the Security Code

1. Press CLOCK SYMBOL.

2. Press LEFT KEY. LOCK and ENTER ---- appear.

3. Enter the desired four-digit security code.

Notes: Do not enter 0000 since this code cancels the security
function (see "Cancelling the Security Feature").

Be sure you enter a security code that you can remember. If
you forget the security code, you will need to reset the
EC-344 to clear all the data you previously entered before you
can enter and access any new data.

4. Press ENTER. The display shows the current time and date display and
LEFT KEY to indicate that all directory records and schedule alarms
    are locked.

When you press ROLODEX SYMBOL or CALENDAR SYMBOL after you lock the
EC-344, CONTACTS or SCHEDULE, LEFT KEY LOCKED and ---- appear on the
display. You must enter the correct security code to get access to your
directory records or schedule alarms.
